So I googled “how to come up with a blog name” today, but by the time I got to “how to come…,” the Google had filled in the rest for me. Go ahead, try it. I’ll wait. Apparently I am not the only one asking this question.
Following the first bit of advice I was given, I came up with what I think its a pretty lame list of words and phrases that relate to the subject I’m going to be blogging about, namely mine and Eric’s yearish-long trip to Panama. Here it is:

From Paris with Love
I thought about Panamor for a while. I liked it – a nice combination of Panama and Amor, or Love. A beautiful idea – it would express that this space is about me and my love traveling to Panama and about my hope that we will love the country and our time there.
Turns out Panamor is an NSAID used for rheumatoid arthritis and gout, or for local use for inhibition of miosis during surgery for cataract prevention of cystoid macular edema associated with removal and lens implantation, inflammatory eye non-infectious nature, post-traumatic inflammation in penetrating and nonpenetrating wound of the eyeball. From what I hear anyway. Not exactly the tone I am trying to set with this blog.
I realized it could also end up being interpreted as Pan Amor, meaning Bread Love in Spanish. Ironic given that I’ve been gluten free for three months now. A cruel joke, actually. I do love bread. So much. So very much.
Obviously the final one on the list won. I love my new last name, and most of you know that it’s at least half of why I married Eric. Plus I feel like I’m incredibly clever for stealing the title of a B-rated movie who stole their title from a Bond film that, quite honestly, I don’t remember. Apparently it’s one of the Sean Connery ones, so it must be worth watching.
Anyway, here we go. Eric and I are moving to Panama for one year on January 3, 2015. He’ll keep the same job with Red Hat that he’s had for over ten years and will work from home, wherever that happens to be. I have been looking for a job since the Fall of 2013. That’s a whole separate post though. The goal is for me to be fluent in Spanish by the time we come back. In the meantime, please plan a trip to visit us!
